There are 3 ways of making regular donations to the upcoming Festival, here is a quick guide.
Paying direct into the King Aelfred Charity Chest "L7487"
You can pay directly into our L7487 Charity Chest hosted by the MCF, and will receive 25% tax relief if you qualify and instruct the MCF to reclaim gift aid.
Resolutions for which charity money is paid to is voted on in open Lodge. By a notice of motion at meeting 1 followed by a full proposal at meeting 2 - this means that charity donations from the Lodge do take a while to process and submit to the MCF for direct payment.
For any money you have paid into the Charity Chest you can ask the Charity Steward to transfer this into the Festival Appeal in your name and will receive the individual benefits of doing so (the Festival Jewel etc).

Paying to the Festival Directly when it opens
Once the Festival has opened members can set up a covenant by way of Standing Order or Direct Debit. This will count towards both the Individuals total and also their nominated Lodge. This will also be subject to Gift Aid should the MCF be instructed to reclaim.
Donations to the festival appeal will be in your name and you will receive the individual benefits of doing so (Festival Jewel etc).

Individual Charity Chest
Receives 25% tax relief, and you have complete control on what charities are paid and when. I do believe you have to make at least one donation to a charity of at least £10 per annum. You can pick the charity you want to pay out of your chest, for instance, you could pay direct to the KAL charity chest if there was a call out for charity (however I believe there is Circa £4000 in the pot just now). You could pay to the MCF, you could donate to the festival when its opened (for credit towards your jewel). Or you could donate to the local charity of your choice, and the MCF will make payment on your behalf.
